1891 Jan. 17 envelope sent from Peking to Massachusetts, on reverse bearing 3ca perf. 12 Small Dragon stamp cancelled by Peking seal in blue, matching "I.G. of Customs/Peking JAN.17/91" double-ring dater, with "Shanghai Customs Shanghai FEB.13/91" transit cds, another faint ransit dater (probably Yokohama), with Mass Mar 11 arrival cds. On front a US stamp has been cut off, with U.S.Postal Agency 17 FEB.91 oval dater alongside. Sent from Peking to Shanghai on the winter overland route by 27 days. The 3ca Small Dragon stamp is for domestic postage during winter time. Large and small Dragon stamos used to USA are very are.
